It takes a diverse and capable team to ensure the level of service clients and families expect from Rhythms Home Care. If you are a caring individual seeking rewarding work and enjoy being with a variety of people, we invite you to join the Rhythms team. All of our team members plan an integral role in our organization—and in the lives of those with whom they provide home health care.
When you join our team, you become part of an organization that offers robust benefits, solid teamwork, and a true sense of accomplishment in caring for older adults.
One of the benefits of being a Rhythms home care worker is that no two days are exactly the same given the care workers’ flexible schedules, with bonuses given for those who accept weekend shifts. Team members serve some guests for just two hours while serving others all day, so they might visit several homes in a single day. Some days are spent working in a senior living community, others in private homes. Rhythms caregivers enjoy the variety and connecting with multiple residents.
Just ask Enid Kadema, mentor and traveling CNA. “Every day is different,” she says. “Yesterday I saw four clients, and today I saw three. Even the activities I do with them are different. Sometimes I am just driving someone to a doctor’s appointment, visiting with them, and waiting for them. For example, yesterday, I was at a gentleman’s house and helped him with his grocery order and picked up his lunch from Famous Dave’s. We had a nice conversation while he ate.”
She contrasts it with the hard work of being a full-time certified nursing assistant in a care community: “There, the kind of work you do as a CNA is totally CNA, and you have 10 people to shower, help bathe, transfer, and it’s very fast. It is very hard work.”
All Rhythms home care workers start their day by clocking in via their smartphone, then checking their phone for updates for that day’s patients’ care plans. Everything is conveniently located in one place, and there is even a way to check off daily care tasks as they are completed.
Next, team members—who are fully vaccinated or went through a rigorous exemption process—self-screen for temperature and COVID-19 symptoms just before they enter the home to help participants get their day started. Each participant has a custom plan that supports their needs, helping them to maintain as much independence as possible. This often includes helping participants rise in the morning, get dressed, and prepare breakfast. Team members will provide medication reminders or help them prepare for appointments.
From its onboarding support to easy uniform requirement (no scrubs; just an easy-to-work-in polo shirt provided by Rhythms), Rhythms stands out from other home care agencies.
“I benefited from the retirement savings even when I was part-time,” says Enid. “Now that I’m full-time, the matching is even better. And there is the paid time off. I like that you earn more hours for time off every pay period, and they keep accumulating. Even though I haven’t yet found the need to take time off, in the future I can take a vacation, and I’ll be more than glad to be using my hours knowing that I’ll be paid.”
CNA Doris Bonsu loves her work—and she loves working at Rhythms. “Definitely come to work here,” she says enthusiastically. “They are nice people, and it’s a good company. The benefits are better than other companies I have worked for. Jamie, our scheduler, is very nice. The office staff is great. My clients are nice too. I like the hours and the variety of the work.”
Enid has the following advice for those considering working at Rhythms. “Come when you are ready. Have a very positive attitude. No matter what the circumstances, you get to help and impact people; you are making an impact in someone’s life. You can tell by the smile on their face. ‘I am so glad you came,’ they will say, and they mean it! I would want the same treatment if I were 60, 80, or 90 years old.”
